Our HCAs provide valuable support to our nurses and GPs, by providing a range of services, including, blood and urine tests, blood pressure checks, INRs, ECGs, suture and staple removal, dressings, a range of injections, ear syringing, spirometry, asthma checks, and health checks and assisting with minor surgery.

Paramedics

Our paramedics provide valuable support to our clinical and non-clinical staff by triaging patients who have made a request to see a clinician urgently and by making home visits where necessary.

District and Community Nurses

The district and community nursing team attached to our practice provide nursing care for patients in the community. Their role includes assessing patients’ needs in their homes, checking patients after hospital discharge, and giving professional nursing care and advice. Health Visitors and Nursery Nurse

A team of part-time health visitors and a nursery nurse provide special support, supervision, and advice for example, for child care and safety and prevention of accidents in the home. Midwife

The midwife runs regular antenatal clinics at Marine and Oakridge Surgeries.

Counsellors

A team of counsellors is based at Marine Surgery and are specially trained to help with a wide range of social, personal, family, and emotional problems, for example, bereavement or redundancy. Please ask your doctor or nurse for details.

Dietitian

A dietitian is based at Marine Surgery and offers help and advice on all dietary problems. To see the dietitian you will need a referral from the doctor.
