The UK Government has launched an emergency alert service that will notify people about potential life-threatening events via their mobile phones – and the first test is running this weekend. The emergency alert test will be run at 3pm on Sunday 23 April.
We are aware that some victims of domestic abuse may have a phone that is hidden from their abuser, and if the phone is on it will send out the alert sound. Refuge have released this video that can act as a guide to managing the emergency alerts. If you need helpful resources about domestic abuse you can find them here.
